Through these doors walk the finest Musicians, Songwriters, Artists, and Producers in the world…and you! Join us for a studio tour of FAME Recording Studios and see where Aretha found her sound, where Wilson Pickett wailed on “Mustang Sally”, “Land of 1000 Dances”, and “Funky Broadway”, and where a who’s who of music royalty — from Etta James to Alicia Keys — have all come searching for the beautiful, soulful, sonic footprint that has come to define FAME Recording Studios.
“Where It All Started” — FAME Recording Studios, located on Avalon Avenue in Muscle Shoals, was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage on December 15, 1997, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016, and has hosted artists such as Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Duane Allman, Otis Redding, the Osmonds, Paul Anka and many others. The seeds of what would become The Allman Brothers Band were planted in FAME’s Studio B. Come see the home of “The Muscle Shoals Sound” and tour the historic Studios A and B, along with a visit to legendary music icon Rick Hall’s office. Over the last 60 years, FAME Studios has recorded or published records that have sold over 350 million copies. Come see the legend for yourself.
