FAME Recording Studios Celebrates 65th Anniversary with Concert and Weekend Festival October 4 – 5, 2024
65 Years of FAME and the Muscle Shoals Sound Concert to feature The War and Treaty, Robert Randolph, Steve Jordan, Bettye LaVette, and more, with Surprise Guests to Be Announced
Huntsville, Ala., August 6, 2024 – This October, the legendary FAME Recording Studios, in partnership with RCP Companies’ MidCity District and The Orion Amphitheater, is proud to announce ’65 Years of FAME and the Muscle Shoals Sound,’ an unforgettable weekend of music and community commencing with a FAME takeover of Huntsville’s MidCity District on October 4 and 5, and culminate in a once-in-a-lifetime anniversary concert on October 5 at the award-winning Orion Amphitheater.
The celebrations commemorate 65 years of FAME’s profound impact on American music and kick-starts a series of festivities that pay homage to the timeless hits and artists that have become the bedrock of American popular music. Muscle Shoals is recognized worldwide for its distinctive sound, and the weekend promises to showcase the finest talents from the region along with a who’s-who of rock, R&B, soul, and country.

The celebration begins on Friday, October 4, with a free show at The Camp, featuring The Shoal Nuff Band and up-and-coming Muscle Shoals and Huntsville artists. The excitement continues throughout Saturday, October 5, with a FAME takeover of Huntsville’s MidCity District. The area will be alive with performances, vendors, and food trucks, providing a family-friendly atmosphere leading up to the evening’s main event.
The “65 Years of FAME and the Muscle Shoals Sound” concert at the Orion will feature performances by some of the biggest names in music, including Maggie Rose; pedal steel guitar virtuoso, Robert Randolph; Dylan LeBlanc; a tribute to The Allman Brothers Band with Scott Sharrard, Oteil Burbridge, Peter Levin, and GRAMMY® winner Gary Nichols and Mike Farris; 4-time GRAMMY® award winner John Paul White; two-time Americana Music Association Duo of the Year, The War and Treaty, and iconic soul songstress, Bettye LaVette, with more artists and surprise guests to be announced. Also performing—and acting as music director for the evening—is Steve Jordan, whose prolific career includes roles as a founding member of the original Blues Brothers Band, drummer for Paul Shaffer and the World’s Most Dangerous Band on ‘Late Night with David Letterman,’ and collaborator with artists such as Keith Richards, John Mayer Trio, and Eric Clapton. Steve is currently touring as the drummer for The Rolling Stones.
The Orion Amphitheater, an 8,000-seat capacity outdoor amphitheater— named Billboard’s “Top East Coast Amphitheater” in 2024—stands as the ideal venue to celebrate the rich musical legacy of North Alabama.
Tickets for this historic concert event will go on sale to the public on August 8, with pre-sale options available on August 7 for Orion newsletter subscribers. $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Critical Path Institute‘s Parkinson’s consortium whose mission is to accelerate approval of therapies that improve the lives of people living with Parkinson’s.
